Face of John Keats

John Keats

The world knows he died young ... what else might he have achieved? He was the poorest and most ignored of all in his time, yet probably everyone’s favourite now. He was also a great letter writer, so we get a very full picture of who he was and where he was going. Poems sampled include: “Ode to a Nightingale”, “La Belle Dame Sans Merci”, “Hyperion”, “Endymion”; his wonderful sonnets “Bright Star”, “On Fame”, “When I have Fears..” and “On First Looking into Chapman’s Homer”; some of his humorous poems, like “Wine, Women and Snuff” and “Sharing Eve’s Apple”; and some of his correspondence with Fanny and Shelley.
